Studio Highlight: Designing A Logo (July 2026)

Examples of different text and typography

People often think logo design starts with sketching, but the truth is, it starts with questions. Before I ever open Illustrator, I’m thinking about who the brand is, what it wants to communicate, and where it needs to grow. A logo isn't just a symbol—it's the first building block of an identity.

While every project is different, my process usually follows the same framework:

Discovery + Research. Understanding the business, audience, and goals before putting pen to paper.

Concept Development. Exploring multiple directions and refining the strongest ideas into something distinctive and memorable.

Building For Longevity. Designing a mark that works across websites, social media, print, and future brand expansions—not just for today's needs.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that a logo isn't meant to tell the entire story. It’s meant to create a foundation. The real magic happens when that mark grows into a complete visual system that can evolve alongside the business. Great logos aren't just designed for launch day—they're designed for everything that comes after.
