As part of reflecting on ten years of Marquee Design Studio, I’ve been revisiting projects that were built with long-term thinking from the very beginning — and P3 Productions (2020) is a great example.
While the project technically began as a logo design for a budding production company, it was always approached with a comprehensive brand system in mind. The goal wasn’t just to create a strong mark, but to lay the groundwork for a brand that could grow.
From day one, the logo was designed to be flexible, confident, and scalable, anticipating its future role within a larger identity. That foundation later expanded naturally into a full brand system, including a cohesive color palette, intentional typography, and comprehensive brand guidelines. Because the bigger picture was considered early on, the transition from logo to full branding felt seamless rather than reactive.
A few key takeaways from this project:
Design with the end in mind.
Even when starting small, thinking ahead allows a brand to grow without losing cohesion.
A strong logo supports a system.
The best marks are designed to live within a broader visual language, not stand alone.
Brand guidelines protect consistency.
Clear rules make it easier for a brand to stay recognizable as it expands across platforms.
Ten years in, this approach has become central to how I work. P3 Productions reflects a mindset I carry into every project now: build intentionally, plan for growth, and create design systems that evolve alongside the businesses they represent.
